Welcome to the progress tools
15/02/2019 7:18 AM

Welcome to the Curriculum Progress Tools website. It has been designed to support schools to use the Learning Progression Frameworks (LPFs) and the Progress and Consistency Tool (PaCT). Together, the two tools support progress in reading, writing, and mathematics. The LPFs support teachers to understand student progress, and PaCT provides a way to track this progress.

The site includes key messages about the tools, and a range of resources for schools to use. These include screencasts that show how to use the tools, videos and case studies that describe the experiences of schools who have been using the tools for a while, and PLD activities to help teachers develop their understanding of how the tools can be used in practice. More resources will be added to the site over the next few months.

Recent updates and enhancements to the tools have strengthened their use.  The levels of the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) have been added to PaCT, and it has been extended for use with students in years 9 and 10. The PaCT student progress report has been updated, and Kāhui Ako reporting features have been added. The final round of PaCT enhancements will take place mid- year, when reports that describe school-wide and class-wide progress will be added, and schools will be given more flexibility to set their own reporting cycles and group students.

Improvements to the LPFs include the removal of the login requirement, the addition of levels of the NZC, and a redesign of the reading, writing and mathematics frameworks so they look more like they do within PaCT.

Both tools can be accessed directly from the homepage of the Curriculum Progress Tools website.
